The Ninth Wave (after Aivasovski)
2001
3 C-prints, hight each 100 cm
This work can be seen as a photographic remake of the (at least in Russia)
famous painting of the same name by Aiwasowski (painted in 1850). Where
in the original painting tiny people struggle against the overwhelming
masses of orange water, people and houses in my photograph tend to drown
in the brownish snow/watermash of Moscow.
